What is speacial with BATHAN lubricants?
The ceramic particles have a distinctive crystalline layer structure. The effect as a solid lubricant is based on the formation of a coating of platelet-shaped particles, which can be shifted against each other with little energy. The ceramic particles are highly temperature resistant and have good thermal shock resistance. They are thermally conductive and chemically inert.
Under load, thermoplastic leveling of the metal surfaces results in constant surface smoothing with minimal loss of substance. Coated metal surfaces have a good sliding and separating charcateristic, so that excessive stress is avoided and associated wear is reduced. The oxidation of coated surfaces is slowed and lifetimes are increased. Smoothed surfaces have a higher load bearing capacity.
